What Is ExpoED?
ExpoED is an online (internet based) application that collects, collates and delivers
accurate student enrollment statistics IN REAL TIME to all areas
that have the need to know. And, you have access to your data from
anywhere, anytime.
COURSE SELECTIONS
Automated course selections from a dynamic course calendar.
Instantly verifies course selections based on pre-requisites, board
recommendations, configurable mark thresholds, post secondary
entrance criteria. Parents, students and administrators can all work
together online. Customized alerts and messages on the school or
board level. Eliminates data entry and verification of course
selections.
CAREER PLANNING
Destination driven career planning with multiple pathway
functionality. Compare credit history with career pathway choices.
Research and create detailed notes on requirements for each pathway.
Easy, intuitive and integrated.
RESOURCE TOOL
Highly configurable tools that allows guidance to build a resource center that is customized
for each board, district, school and grade level. Resource tools can include links to specific websites
of your choice, references to any school or board related material including pdf, files, word documents,
charts and images. Links can be configured to access other 3rd party commercial tools that may already be used
by a school (ie Career Cruising).

How Does it Work?
ExpoEd identifies and addresses an area in the education industry
that lacks continuity. While a wealth of great resource tools are
available to help in career planning, no product currently ties
that planning back into the transcript (or currently reality) of
an actual student. ExpoEd bridges the gap between resource tools
and existing student information.

What is required from my IT department?
ExpoEd works using an ASP model (Application Service Provider).
What this means is that ExpoEd maintains all the hardware and
software needed to run the application. Specific advantages are:
- No software to install.
- No additional hardware required.
- Updates are instant and do not require any installation.
- 99.9% uptime.
The only thing required from your IT department is a one-time
script development to export the data to the ExpoEd system. The
format is defined by ExpoEd and will take your IT department
approximately 4-8 hours depending on the SMS and IT personnel.
Please note that the information that is exported from your SMS is
essentially the student name and student marks in order to
eliminate privacy issues.

Courses and Descriptions
Currently, the courses used in the application are those listed
by the Ontario Ministry of Education in the respective Curriculum
Guidelines. All course codes and descriptions are those used by
the Ministry in their documents. Standard descriptions can be altered
if required.
In addition, new/school specific courses can be added to the course
selection menu. These will be available only to those students registered
at that specific school. Simply enter them in our proprietary course
calendar construction module completing all relevant information
and our intelligent system will add all the logic to ensure accurate
enrolment of qualified students.

Prerequisites
The majority of courses offered in schools are based on the Ministry
of Education Curriculum Guidelines. ExpoED has incorporated the
intelligence to compare student transcript and report card information
to allow students to select only those courses for which they have
successfully completed the prerequisite. All other courses offered
by the school will appear on the menu, but cannot be selected by
the student. This allows the student to see future choices and provides
the student with the information they will need to make intelligent
and informed choices.

Privacy
Exposoft's In-House Counsel and Privacy Officer has extensive experience
both nationally and internationally with the demands of various
Privacy Legislations. ExpoED has been designed to conform to these
laws and with the user (secondary student) in mind. Its built in
security ensures records are not altered either intentionally or
erroneously. Each user will have access only to their own information
and cannot access the information of others (unless they have been
given permission to do so). Access by School or Board Staff can
be restricted as desired by the administrator of the application
using a variety of measures including lockouts, password authentication
and other protocols designed to maintain the security of the system.

Security
Our security measures have been independently audited and found
to exceed any standard of measure. Many of our national and international
clients require both personal and group security for high profile
public individuals. As a result, our systems have been reviewed
by a variety of national security agencies to ensure compliance
with their requirements. Round the clock automated (biometric, video
surveillance etc.) and human monitoring protects our hardware. Our
applications are built with several layers of internal security
measures to ensure protection of the data. In addition, your own
Board security measures will be incorporated into the process. Security
